Thomas Easop

Senior Management

Tom Easop wears many hats. In his senior management role, he is Wild Blue’s Director of Marketing as well being a field leader and the coordinator for all issues related to child safety and protection. On the Advisory Board, he fills the more general role of close advisor on all issues. Mr. Easop’s unique breadth of experience comes from a life dedicated to exploration, education and leadership. His professional background includes outdoor and cultural exploration, youth program development and leadership, health and safety operations, photography, writing, teaching and entrepreneurial business. These various pursuits have taken him to twenty-four countries, from the equator to the Arctic Circle and led him to forge close friendships on several continents. Mr. Easop started exploring the outdoors at the age of eleven, camping, canoeing and hiking year round. Soon after, he began scuba diving, rafting, climbing and traveling. Never without a camera, even while underwater, he documented everything he saw photographically. Much of his early experience was gained through participation in the Boy Scouts of America and their Sea Explorer program, where he earned Scouting’s highest award, the rank of Eagle Scout. Pursuing his love of photography and of the outdoors, Tom obtained a BA in Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography as well as a degree in Parks and Recreation Management from S.U.N.Y. at Delhi. While enrolled at Brooks Institute, he was a volunteer member of the Los Padres Search and Rescue Team. As a team member and Technical Deputy of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, he gained experience in high angle technical rope rescue, swift water rescue, man tracking, and wilderness search operations management. After that, he worked as a full-time New York City Paramedic for New York City EMS and for various hospitals, where he still works a few tours per month to maintain current practice. Mr. Easop was also an adult leader in Scouting USA, where he put into practice educational and outdoor program development, and learned youth health and safety protection. Tom is a successful photographer and publishes much of his work through commercial outlets and in the international press. His current project, an authoritative book titled The Guns and Armor of Scapa Flow, will be released later in 2007. It will comprise English and German language text and beautiful photographs taken using unique, large format, underwater cameras that he designed and manufactured, himself.
