Sam Marquand

Teacher & Activities Coordinator

Sam Marquand is a Teacher and Activities Coordinator for Wild Blue, specializing in science. Sam comes to Wild Blue from the Wildlife Conservation Society, where he taught children about the wonders of the natural world and the value of conserving wildlife and natural resources. He has over five years of educational experience with children of all ages, as well as a lifetime of experience working with animals large and small. He holds a BA in Biology from Vassar College, and has dedicated his professional life to inspiring a new generation of concerned environmentalists with an eye towards making a better planet for people and animals alike. During his time at Vassar, he traveled to the Caribbean as part of a research team trying to understand the effects of human activity on native plants and animals and the people who depend on them. Sam believes that every child has the potential to change the world, and every opportunity to connect people with the natural world is the key to unlock this potential. With that goal in mind, he has led children on outdoor explorations, taught programs on animal adaptations, conservation of endangered species and the web of life, and spearheaded a program with at-risk youth designed to use animal care as occupational therapy. Sam is thrilled to bring his passion and dedication to the children of Wild Blue.
