Ken Koga-Moriuchi

Director of Teacher Development


Ken Koga-Moriuchi is a member of the Advisory Board, contributing his vast experience and knowledge to the Wild Blue team as our director of pedagogic development. He is also an integral part of all projects that involve working with the NYC Department of Education or the development of expeditionary teaching systems. Ken has over 20 years of experience in the field of education. He is a science teacher and instructional designer specializing in participatory science teaching techniques and kit design. He was a science staff developer for the elementary and middle school levels, with the NYC Department of Education, from 1998 to 2001. He is currently an independent consultant to the DOE, specializing in inquiry & project based learning. He is an expert in instructional design methodologies that include video, multimedia, web and computer based training Ken has affiliations with: Catalina Island Marine Institute, National Association of Underwater Instructors, US Department of Agriculture and NY State Ag in the Classroom. He is also a former exhibit designer/aquarist with the Exploratorium and Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco.
