Expeditions

Every year, Wild Blue’s team of experienced explorers and travelers, leads several guided, high adventure expeditions for families.  There is no fixed age requirement − babies and grandparents have participated − though people are often amazed that we design these expeditions for kids.
Past activities have included sledding across pack ice in the Canadian High Arctic; studying marine biology in the Dry Tortugas; and swimming with pods of wild dolphins in the Bahamas. Wherever we may go, the young explorers who participate in our trips interact directly with the amazing people, places and things that most kids only experience through books or television.

Arctic 2007
In May 2007, ten Wild Blue kids and their parents traveled to Resolute Bay for the adventure of a lifetime. They climbed glaciers, rode snowmobiles, saw polar bears, and joined Inuit kids in their school. Latest Trip

Bahamas, March 30 - April 5 2008

Wild Blue kids and their parents joined the crew of the R/V Tiburon to explore the waters around the islands of the Bahamas. On this expedition the kids and their parents got close to dolphins and sharks and snorkelled around amazing reefs.

The area they visited is home to large pods of bottlenose dolphins, which they met while snorkeling. They were amazed when the 600-lbs. mammals came up close to say hello in crystal clear water.
The RV Tiburon is a working research vessel, allowing the kids on the trip to learn more about the plants and animals they discovered on their dives.

To learn more about what it's like to meet a shark, take a look at the blog the Wild Blue kids put together after our first trip to the Bahamas in 2007, or the photos in our gallery!
